  Detail risk profiling
Physical examination (including breast examination)
Cervical (Pap) smear
Blood surveillance
Full blood count (including Hepatitis B, Syphilis, HIV, ABO & Rh testing, Rubella screen, CMV, Toxoplasmosis, Fasting glucose, thyroid)
Urine analysis
Ultrasound of the pelvis
Hormonal profiling (additional)

Well Women Screening

Today’s women are increasingly health conscious, which is a positive development. You are interested to screen for diseases like cancers of the breast, ovary, uterus and cervix. Other chronic illnesses like heart disease, diabetes and osteoporosis are common conditions to be screened as well. Against the back-drop of the high cost of treating cancers and other long term diseases, it makes great sense for you to attend a full body check up once a year. Early detection of these chronic conditions enables you to adopt only necessary minor intervention in order to achieve better long term control of these conditions. Our well women programme screens both the important gynecological diseases and chronic conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes, anaemia and others. When you come for your annual check-up, we provide the following:

Risk profiling of major and common illnesses
Full physical examination
Breast examination
Full gynaecological examination
Pap smear (when appropriate)
Urine and stool examination
Blood tests
Ultrasound scan of the abdomen, pelvis and breast when appropriate)

STD Screening

After becoming sexually active, many of you become aware of and concern about vaginal discharge and discomfort. The health of the vaginal canal has to be addressed at times. You may become anxious when you noticed excessive or abnormal vaginal discomfort or discharge. Normal physiological changes are often the cause. Nevertheless, it is also possible to be afflicted by the many infections that involve the genital tract. Screening for the variety of infective agents is important when you appreciate that some of the infections may have long term effect on your health and fertility. We encourage you to take the proactive step to prevent the consequences of pelvic inflammatory infection.

Metabolic Syndrome Screening

The metabolic syndrome gain prominence in the 1980s when it was noticed that people who are either suffering from, or have the family history of, a cluster of common conditions have raised level of insulin. This high insulin level results from the inability of muscles and fat, to make use of insulin effectively, thus the term “insulin resistance”. In order to overcome the poorer response of the tissues to actions such as sugar control, the pancreas has to produce extra insulin to get the desired effect. Insulin resistance is readily found amongst women with a strong family history of diabetes, heart disease, weight gain and polycystic ovaries. Besides stress, pregnancy and advancing age, a high carbohydrate snacking type diet also increases the risk. Women with insulin resistance have increased risk of heart diseases, central weight gain, abnormal hormone production leading to infertility and high blood pressure. They may have disturbed sleep patterns and mood stability, and often complain of bloating and bowel problems. Chronic ailments drain resources and we suggest that if you experience some of the above symptoms, it may be appropriate to check if insulin resistance contributes to their occurrences. Early confirmation of insulin resistance may delay progression of the condition by timely medical intervention and lifestyle changes. Improving insulin resistance reduces the degree of fat deposition, reduces central weight and the consequence on diabetes, high blood pressure and heart diseases.
